New Horizons Textile Group was formed in January 1993, by former students of North Hertfordshire College.  At the time all members had completed the City & Guilds course in Patchwork & Quilting and they were anxious to maintain their links with each other and the art and craft of quilting once the course was completed.

Since then, new members have joined the group and it has become a more diverse group in its stitching skills.

Membership is by invitation.  The group aims to develop it’s members’ skills in design, technique and workmanship through mutual encouragement and support.

The group meets twice a month and exchanges ideas for forthcoming exhibitions, shares news and generally keeps in touch with one another.

The quilt illustrated in the banner above is called ‘The View from Here’.  It achieved a first place for the group at the National Quilt Championships at Olympia in 1999. It is based on the view from the group’s meeting place, Bramfield Village Hall.
